About this policy
Barbell Battles is operated by Kevin Kuriakose. This policy explains how the app handles information when you create an account, record lifts, join groups, and compare personal records.
Information we collect
We collect your email address and authentication information; first and last name, username, and preferred weight unit; lift exercises, weights, dates, and optional notes; and group names, ownership, memberships, and join codes. Our service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, and authentication logs to operate and protect the service. The app does not connect to Apple Health or request your contacts or location.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure your account, send verification and password-recovery emails, store your lifting history, manage groups, calculate rankings, display your preferences, and investigate service problems or abuse.
Information visible to other members
People in your groups can see your name, username, leaderboard scores, and personal-record counts. Group members can see group membership information and join codes. Your email address, password, and private lift notes are not displayed on leaderboards. Share join codes only with people you want to invite.
Service providers and sharing
We use Supabase for account authentication, database hosting, and backend functions. Authentication email providers process email addresses and delivery information to send account emails. Expo and Apple provide app build, distribution, and testing infrastructure. We do not sell personal information or use advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs in the app. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Storage and security
Account and app data are stored with our service providers and may be processed outside your country. Network requests use HTTPS, and database access is controlled by authentication and authorization rules. Your device stores your sign-in session and cached app data, including group and leaderboard information, to keep you signed in and reduce loading. Signing out clears the app query cache. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Retention and account deletion
We retain account and lifting information while your account is active. You can edit your profile and edit or delete individual lifts. To delete your account, open Profile, select Delete account, and complete the confirmation steps. This removes your account, profile, lift history, and memberships from the active database. Groups you own transfer to their earliest remaining member, or are deleted when no other member remains. Backup copies and operational logs may remain until the relevant provider retention periods expire, and information may be retained when legally required.
Your choices
You can update your profile, choose your weight unit, remove lift entries, or delete your account within the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or a copy of your personal information. Email [email protected] for privacy requests.
Children
Barbell Battles is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, email [email protected] so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. For questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected].
